Westlake's Colleen Branch Runs 11.99 100 Meter No. 1 Mark In Time Trials

On Saturday, the Westlake Lions track and field team held their intrasquad time trials and for the first time since early in the 2020 season, student-athletes were competing on the high school level. Although the meet only featured several running events on Saturday, there was still plenty of excitement and it all began with the first event in which junior Colleen Branch raced down the track to win the 100 meter dash in a time of 11.99 setting a U.S. #1 mark. Branch also finished third in the 400 meter dash in a time of 59.52. Maddison Wilson would win that event in a time of 59.03. Alexis Arnett had a good day as well finishing first in both the girls 1600 meter run and the 800 meter run, in which she finished in a time of 2:29.16. Watch highlights from the meet below now!
