Creekside Defeats Jonesboro 21-12, Sets Up Region Title Match Up With Woodward Academy

On Friday, the Creekside Seminoles traveled to face the Jonesboro Cardinals in a pivotal region match up for both teams. This would also be the Cardinals third game in eight days, so stamina would be a bit of concern for them, but they did not let that stop them from coming out and scoring 1:51 into the game after quarterback Chadrick Garner threw a touchdown pass to Gary McGill to give Jonesboro a 6-0 lead. On the ensuing possession, Creekside would use more time and drive the ball down the field and eventually score on a Jamond Lee rushing touchdown. In the second quarter, the Seminoles would add to their lead as quarterback Nyqua Lett would connect with Derrick White on a touchdown pass and Creekside would go up 14-6. The next couple of possessions for both teams would result in a few turnovers but Jonesboro would settle in late in the second quarter and with time winding out, Garner would throw his second touchdown of the game to Devon Rainy. The Cardinals would fail on the two point conversion and trail 14-12 at the half. Each team would get a solid performance from their defense in the third quarter, so there would not be another score until 7:50 remaining in the fourth quarter when Creekside's Lett would rush for his second score of the night, putting the Seminoles up 21-12 and that would be your final.
