Lakeside-Evans Improves To 3-0 With 45-21 Win Over Duluth

On Friday, the Duluth Wildcats football team hosted the Lakeside-Evans Panthers. The Wildcats came into the match up looking for their first win of the season, while the Panthers looked to improve to 3-0 with a win.

The Lakeside defense would get into action right away as Daniel Holloway with intercept a Lonnie Ratliff pass on Duluth's opening drive, returning the ball deep into the Wildcats' territory. The Panthers would have to settle for a field goal on the ensuing drive and take a 3-0 lead.

In the second quarter, the Panthers' offense would start to click as quarterback Jaden Taylor would rush for a touchdown to give Lakeside a 10-0 lead and then later in the second quarter Taylor would connect with Zalon Hawes for another score as Lakeside would go up 18-0.

Duluth would finally get on the board thanks to a Ratliff quarterback keeper and that score would seem to ignite the Wildcats defense as they would sack Taylor for a loss then intercept a Taylor pass with time winding down in the first half.

Despite Duluth going into the locker room with momentum at the half, Lakeside would come out scoring on their first two possessions to take a 31-7 lead and go on to pick up the 45-21 win. Taylor would finish with five touchdowns for the Panthers in the win as they improved to 3-0. Watch highlights from the game below now!
