PSN Spotlight: Marietta Blue Devils Football Ready To Put Good Production On The Field

With the 2019 high school football season officially underway, the Marietta Blue Devils out of Marietta, Georgia quickly got to work as they have been waiting since the end of the 2018 season to get the new season started. Going into last season, many had the Blue Devils pegged to make a deep run in the Georgia High School Association Class 7A state playoffs, possibly bringing home a state title.

With, then junior quarterback Harrison Bailey leading the charge along with a solid receiving core that included Arik Gilbert and now Tennessee Volunteers' wide receiver, Ramel Keyton, a state championship was all but a guarantee in the eyes of many. However, injuries to Bailey and Keyton set the Blue Devils back some and although both players returned, Marietta never quite rebounded and despite advancing to the GHSA 7A state playoffs, a first round loss to East Coweta would bring Marietta's season to an end.

Now as the new season has begun and Bailey back at full strength and the addition of Michigan State commit, Ricky White, the Blue Devils have their own expectations, which is to put a product on the field that the community can be proud of as well as to go 1-0 each week in hopes of still playing in December. We got a chance to stop by the Blue Devil's first day of practice of the 2019 season and spoke with Head Coach Morgan about those expectations for this year and more.
