On Friday, as the Georgia High School Association track and field state championships resumed, the Brookwood Bronco's own Morgan Bentley completed the day by winning her first state title as she won the GHSA 7A girls triple jump championship. Bentley, a junior, completed the task by jumping a winning mark of 39 feet, 6 1/2 inches. Following the win, Bentley told reporters, "It feels amazing to win state". She also went on to say that she was hoping she could have set a new personal best record (current 40 feet 2 inches), "but it feels great!" Later, Bentley finished third in the long jump with a leap of 18 feet, 4 1'4 inches. With the track season now complete, the two sport athlete will rejoin her Brookwood soccer teammates as they prepare to take on Lambert on Tuesday in the GHSA 7A semi finals.
