PSN Spotlight: GHSA Boys Lacrosse

With about two weeks to go in the Georgia High School Association lacrosse regular season, several teams are looking to keep their perfect records in tact while others are looking to close out strong and make a push for the playoffs. On the boy’s side, in the 6A-7A standings, the Lambert Longhorns lead the way with a 12-0 overall record. In fact, the Longhorns have not loss since their 10-5 loss to the Lassiter Trojans in the 2017 GHSA State Championship game. This season, Lambert has been won several game by five points or more with multiple victories of 10 points or more.

Right behind the Longhorns in the standings is the team they defeated in the 2018 GHSA 6A-7A championship game, the previously mentioned Lassiter Trojans. Lassiter also sits at 12-0 overall and like the Longhorns have been winning majority of their game by large margins with only two games won by three points or less. A few one loss teams to keep an on down the stretch are the Walton Raiders, the North Paulding Wolfpack and the Roswell Hornets. In the GHSA 1A-5A standings, the Benedict Cadets and the Westminster Wildcats lead the way at 11-1 with Druid Hills sitting in the third spot at 8-1.

The Cadets have rolled through their opponents with their only loss coming at the hands of the McIntosh Chiefs in an 11-10 thriller. Meanwhile, Westminster has had closer margins of victories including their recent 7-6 win over Walton and their 9-8 overtime win over rival the Lovett Lions. The only loss for the Wildcats was an 8-7 OT loss to Allatoona. Westminster will have face two tough opponents this week when they take on Blessed Trinity on Wednesday and then Lambert on Friday.
