Westminster Girls Win Westminster Relays, Boys Come In Close Second Behind South Gwinnett

The rain cleared out just in time for the annual Westminster Relays and as expected, the day was full of close races, personal best, and more! As the running events got underway, fans were treated to an exciting and close race in the girls 4x1600M Relay as the Westminster Wildcats and the Marist War Eagles kept it close in the final leg of the relay.

Marist would have the lead as Kathleen Schellman looked to maintain and bring the War Eagles the win but Naima Turbes of Westminster had other plans as she would take the lead on the back stretch of their second lap. Schellman would briefly regain the lead on the back stretch of the third lap, but Turbes would regain and lead the Wildcats to victory.

Another close race would be the girls 4x100 relay as AIB and Whitefield Academy would be neck and neck on the final 100 meters but AIB would edge out Whitefield for the win. The Westminster Girls would win the annual Westminster Relays. On the boys side, South Gwinnett would edge out Westminster by two points to win the meet! Watch these highlights and more below now!
