Title For Titans, Blessed Trinity Defeats The Marist War Eagles 16-7 For The GHSA 4A State Champions

There's nothing like rivalry teams meeting up, especially when a state championship is on the line and on Friday, after losing to rival Marist 25-24 earlier this season, the Blessed Trinity Titans came into the Georgia High School Association Football Class 4A State Championship not only looking to avenge their earlier loss, but also claim the state title by doing so. As expected, defense was the major factor early on in the contest as the Titans took a 7-0 lead into the locker room at the half.

In the third quarter, Blessed Trinity began their opening drive with some positive plays that would lead them into the red zone and settling for what appeared to be a field goal, but a bad snap would allow the War Eagles to takeover on downs. Later in the fourth quarter, the Titans once again racked up positive yardage and this time capped off their drive with a rushing touchdown by Steele Chambers as Blessed Trinity took a 14-0 lead.

The War Eagles would eventually mount up a touchdown drive of their own capped off with a seven yard run by Bradley Kaminski and Marist trailed 14-7. The War Eagles defense would come up big late as well forcing the Titans to punt after an three and out possession. But the punt would play favorites to the Titans as it bounced and rolled down to the Marist seven yard line.

With their backs up against their own goal line, the War Eagles were unable to stop two sacks by the Titans, the second leading to a safety making it 16-7 lead for Blessed Trinity and they would go on to win by that final score. Watch highlights of the game below now!
