Tucker Tigers Roar Back With 20 2nd Half Points To Knock Off Allatoona 20-12, Advance To GHSA 6A Sem


In third round action of the Georgia High School Association Class 6A football state playoffs, the Tucker Tigers would score 20 second half points to come away with a 20-12 victory over the visiting Allatoona Buccaneers. The win sends the Tigers to the GHSA 6A semi-finals where they will face Coffee County who defeated Alpharetta.

The Tigers would find themselves down 6-0 at the half, but would get on the board right at the start of the third quarter as Tyler Hughey would take the second half kickoff and return it 90 yards for the score helping the Tigers take a 7-6 lead. Later in the fourth quarter, holding onto a 10-6 lead, the Tigers would strike once again when Jr. quarterback Travon Ford would connect with So. Isaiah Dunson for a touchdown and Tucker would take a 17-6 lead.

Later in the period, the Tigers would add a field goal and go up 20-6 and despite a touchdown by Allatoona with under two minutes to go in the game, the Tigers would get the win. Watch highlights from the game below now!
