Steele Chambers' 3 TD's Not Enough For Titans As Marist Improves to 8-0 with 25-24 Win Over


On Friday, the Blessed Trinity Titans hosted rival, the Marist War Eagles and wold hope to hand the War Eagles their first loss and avoid suffering their second loss of the season. The Titans would score first thanks to a 24 yard rushing touchdown by Steele Chambers and Blessed Trinity would take a 7-0 lead in the first quarter. With time winding down in the opening quarter, the War Eagles would score off a rushing touchdown by Dean Johnson with 2:08 remaining in the opening quarter and the game would be tied, 7-7.

In the second quarter, a fumble by Marist's Matthew Gwin would lead to another rushing touchdown by Blessed Trinity's Chambers and the Titans would take a 14-7 lead. with 7:28 to go in the first half. In the third quarter, the War Eagles would find themselves down 17-7 but would come up with a field goal to make it a 17-10 game in favor of the Titans.

Following a thrown interception by Blessed Trinity's Jake Smith, the War Eagles once again tie up the game when Chase Abshier would connect with John Fitzpatrick for a 30 yard touchdown and the score would be 17-17. In the fourth quarter, Chambers would rush for his third touchdown of the game to give the Titans a 24-17 lead but the War Eagles would answer back when after Ashbier and Fitzpatrick would connect on a fourth and 9 to set up a first and goal and then Abshier would keep it and score making it a 24-23 game in favor of the Titans. But a two point conversion by Marist would give the War Eagles the 25-24 lead and that would be the final score of the game. Watch highlights below now!
