Iloh And Markley Combine For 40 Kills In McIntosh Chiefs' 3-0 Win Over Trinity Christian

On Tuesday, the McIntosh Chiefs volleyball team hosted the Trinity Christian Lions in a best of five match up. The Chiefs came into the match with a 13-0 record while the Lions were riding a five game win streak. In the first set, the Chiefs would jump out to a 3-0 lead but the Lions would keep the set close early on. However, after Trinity Christian tied the set 6-6, the Chiefs would take control outscoring the Lions 19-12 down the stretch to win the set 25-18. In Set two, the Lions would come out with a much more aggressive attack, taking a 7-2 lead at one point, but the Chiefs would settle in and chip away at the Trinity Christian lead, eventually taking the lead and winning the set 25-20. Set three, the Chiefs would control majority of the way to a 25-14 win of the set and a 3-0 win in the match improving to 14-0 on the season. Ngozi Iloh (22 kills) and Alexa Markley (18 kills) would combine for 40 of the Chiefs kills in the win. Claire Lewis, who set up most of the McIntosh kills, would also have five aces on the night along with 3 kills. Jayden Collins would add five kills. Watch highlights from the match below now!
