Denmark, Northview team winners of Wesleyan Invitational

The Wesleyan Wolves boys and girls cross country teams hosted their annual Invitational as teams from around the Atlanta metropolitan are made their way into Peachtree Corners, Georgia to the course. The boys run would kick off the meet and the Denmark Danes would not only capture the team win with 27 points, with Whitefield following in second and host Wesleyan finishing third, Denmark junior, Ethan Bridge (16:35.39) would capture first in the boys run, with teammate, Ben Sydell (16.44.57)finishing in second. “I think running with him really helps because we do all the same training. I know if he’s feeling good, I do the same stuff he does, so if he can go, I know I can go with him. That really helps” Sydell said of running with Bridge.

Agreeing with Sydell, Bridge added that “staying calm and composed, just sticking in that race, just staying in that pack and then just give it all we’ve got at the end,” was an important way for the two, to head into Saturday’s race and run the course. In the girls race, the Northview Titans would have similar results to that of Denmark as they too would solidify the team win, with junior Regina Michel-Camacho (21:24 .56) capturing the girls first place finish. The host Wolves would finish second in team points, followed by Flowery Branch.
