Chamblee, Marist Battle In Dual Meet With Weeks To Go of Regular Swim Season
On Tuesday, the Chamblee Bulldogs, aka “Bullsharks” hosted the Marist War Eagles in a dual meet as both teams prepare for the regular season to come to an end and swimmers begin to prepare for the Georgia High School Association state championship meet next month. For the War Eagles, the boys team would get the day going winning the first four events while the Lady Bullsharks would take the first three girls events before Marist would get their first win in the girls 50 freestyle.
Impressive solo performances included Marist’s Alex Wiegand in the boys 200 freestyle as he finished first with a time of 1:51.06. This finish came after he helped the War Eagles take first in the boys 200 medley relay. His finish was six seconds ahead of the second place finisher in Chamblee’s Jack McLellan, who finished in a time of 1:57.89. Chamblee’s Kyla Maloney took first in the girls 200 freestyle in a time of 2:00.67, five seconds ahead of Marist’s Allie Donkar and the Bullsharks’ Evelyn Entrekin would finish five seconds ahead of Marist’s Angela Pappadakis. Entrekin’s first place time, 2:16.42.
