Hapeville Hornets Sting Douglass With 43-6 Region Win, Marcus Carroll Three Rushing Touchdowns


On Friday, the defending three time Georgia High School Association Class 2A Region 6 champions, the Hapeville Hornets took on their region rival, the Douglass Astros as both teams came into the contest undefeated in region play and the winner getting an edge in the standings.

The Astros also boasted a 5-0 record entering into the contest and looked to remain perfect on the season. The Hornets would score first thanks to a rushing touchdown by Rico Powers Junior, however Douglass would answer back when DeAndre Watson would connect with Quientin Williams to put the Astros on the board as they trailed 7-6.

The Hornets would then go on a tear scoring 36 unanswered points on their way to a 43-6 win and improving to 4-1 overall and 3-0 in the region standings. Marcus Carroll would rush for three touchdowns in the Hornets' win while Powers would be responsible for two scores. Watch highlights from the game below now!
