McEachern Downs Brookwood 48-10 In Corky Kell Classic And Indians' New Coach Franklin Stephens D
On Saturday, the McEachern Indians and the Brookwood Broncos, two of the original Corky Kell Classic football teams, faced off on the third and final day of the classic. For the Indians, the game would be the debut of their new head coach, Franklin Stephens.
As the game got underway, the McEachern defense would get things going for the Indians as Chief Borders would intercept a Jake Spyke pass. Later, the Indians would march down the field, largely in part by a some big yardage on the ground by running back Christian Robinson.
McEachern would cap off the drive with a Robinson touchdown. In the second quarter, the Indians would begin their air attack as Carlos Del Rio would find Gary Simpson in the end zone as McEachern would take a 13-0 lead after missing on the extra point.
Del Rio would attack the same corner but this time find Javon Baker there to receive his pass and McEachern would go up 20-0. In the third quarter, Brookwood would finally get a spark out of their offence as the Broncos would score off a Tyler Knight short yardage run, however, the McEachern offense would not let up as they would go to pick up the 48-10 win.
