Longhorns Fight to Come From Behind For Win As Lanier Defeats Forest Park 44-38


On Saturday, the Georgia High School Association basketball state playoffs continued and in girls Class 6A action the Forest Park Lady Panthers took on the Lanier Lady Longhorns.

The game would get off to a slow start as the Panthers held a 6-3 lead at the end of the first quarter and at the end of the second quarter, Forest Park would take a 16-7 lead into the locker room at the half.

In the third quarter, Lanier would outscore the Panthers 11-10 but still trail 26-18 at the end of the period. However, in the fourth quarter, the Longhorns would would get the offensive spark that they needed.

Led by Mekala Fuller (15 pts), Lanier would outscore the Panthers 26-12 which would propel them to a 44-38 win and a state title game birth, the first in school history. Watch highlights from the game below now!
