Eagles Escape Spartan's Attack As Collins Hill Defeats Campbell 54-49 To Advance To GHSA 7A Fina


On Tuesday, the Georgia High School Association basketball state playoffs resumed and in Class 7A girls action, the Collins Hill Eagles hosted the Campbell Spartans. As the game got underway, the Eagles would find themselves trading baskets early on with the Spartans.

However, after a 4-4 tie, the Eagles would go on a 12-3 run to take a 14-7 lead and eventually take a 16-9 lead at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter would open up with the Spartans going on a 16-2 run led by the Alston sister as Campbel took a 25-18 lead, from that point, a 7-0 by the Collins Hill would have the game tied up 25-25 at the half.

In the third quarter, the Spartans would outscore the Eagles 11-8 and hold a 36-33 lead at the end of the third quarter, but a 21 point fourth quarter by the Eagles would help lift them to a 54-49 win to advance to the GHSA 7A Final Four. Watch highlights from the game below now!
