Bulldogs Avenge Only Region Loss, Tri Cities Defeats Langston Hughes 80-67
In a rematch from a week ago, the Tri Cities Bulldogs boys basketball team hosted the Langston Hughes Panthers. In their previous match up, the Panthers defeated the Bulldogs 64-58, handing Tri cities their first and only region loss. In Saturday's meeting, the Bulldogs would take the lead early on going up by as many as six in the first quarter.
The Panthers would manage to cut the Tri Cities lead to two as they trailed 19-16 with less than 15 seconds left on the clock, but Davon Cottle would launch and connect on a long range three pointer to give the Bulldogs a 21-16 lead at the end of the first period.
That shot would seem to fuel Tri Cities and keep the game's momentum in their favor as they would never relinquish the lead despite several quick runs by the Panthers, who struggled stopping the Bulldogs in transition throughout the night. Tri Cities would go on to pick up the 80-67 win and even up the season series between the two teams. Watch highlights from the game below now!
