Spartans Overcome 14 Point Deficit As Greater Atlanta Christian Defeats McEachern 56-54

In a prime time Saturday night prime time match up, the McEachern Indians girls basketball team hosted the Greater Atlanta Christian Spartans. At 2-2, the Indians were looking for their third straight win, while the Spartans at 3-5 looking for a win to end their three game losing streak.

In the first quarter, both teams would struggle offensively as almost half of the period would go by before either team would score. The Indians would get on the board first thanks to a Rae Jana Wright basket to give McEachern a 2-0 lead. The Indians would then go on to outscore the Spartans 10-2 in the opening quarter.

At the end of the third quarter, despite the Indians holding a 37-32 lead over the Spartans, the Spartans had outscored McEachern 20-15 and that momentum would carry over into the fourth quarter as Great Atlanta Christian would catch fire.

Lead by Jaci Bolden, who would help the Spartans outscore McEachern once again, 24-15, including a game tying three pointer by Maya Timberlake and then go ahead bucket at the buzzer by Bolden, the Spartans would get the 56-54 win and end their three game losing streak.
