4-Star Guard Desmond Polk Announces Transfer To La Lumiere School

Back in the spring of 2018, then New Berlin West four star sophomore guard, Desmond Polk had announced that he had transferred to Nicolet High School in Glendale, Wisconsin. But after the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association informed the Polk family that they would not grant a waiver for Desmond's transfer to Nicolet, the Polk family decided that the best decision would be to enroll Desmond into La Lumiere School in La Porte, Indiana. David Polk, father of Desmond spoke with the Journal Sentinel and stated that the decision to enroll Desmond into La Lumiere School based on the fact that the family did not agree with the ruling by the WIAA, however they did not want Desmond to chance losing out on a year of varsity play by potentially losing an appeal. Polk, who is considered a Division I prospect averaged 19 points per game on 42 percent shooting as a sophomore at New Berlin.
