"Go Dawgs" For Upson-Lee's Travon Walker, Commits To Georgia
On Tuesday, Upson-Lee defensive lineman, Travon Walker, announced his commitment at a ceremony held in his home town of Thomaston, Georgia and that pledged went to the Georgia Bulldogs. At 6-foot-4, 272 pounds, Walker is considered one of the nations top defensive lineman prospects and was pursued by some of the country's top division 1 programs including Clemson, South Carolina, Alabama, and Auburn. Listed as a five star recruit by 247 Sports, Walker said his reason for choosing the Kirby Smart led Bulldogs was that, "It's just home," adding, "I feel comfortable and I'm in my home state. They keep the state on lock," Walker said in reference to the Georgia. Last season, Walker had 37 solo tackles along with two forced fumbles but his talents exceeded well beyond the football field as he also averaged 13 points and 15 rebounds last season for the Knights basketball team and was part of their 31-0 streak.
