Pinnacle High's Nico Mannion To Reclassify, Will Graduate In 2019


On Friday, Nico Mannion of Pinnacle High School out Phoenix, Arizona, officially announced that he would be reclassifying and become a 2019 graduate. Pinnacle, who helped lead the Pioneers to its first 6A state basketball title, has had the discussions of his reclassification taking place since his freshman year, according to his head coach, Charlie Wilde. Back in May, Pace Mannion, Nico's father, told azcentral sports that this year would be his son's final year of circuit basketball. He is currently playing with West Coast Elite and according to his father, once he's finished with summer basketball, he will begin taking online classes in order to help with graduating in 2019. Currently Mannion is ranked 23rd in the Chosen 25 for the Class of 2020. Mannion made his announcement about reclassifying via Twitter on Friday afternoon.
