Kentucky Prospects Improve To 4-0 In Perfect Game WWBA 17U Nationals Pool Play

On day three of the Perfect Game WWBA 17U National Championship, the Kentucky Prospects out of Paducah, Kentucky took on the Cross Hit Red out of Nashville, Tennessee. The Prospects cam into the match with a 3-0 record in pool play, while Cross Hit, at 1-2, looked to pick up the win and get back to .500 in their pool standings.

In the top of the first, Cross Hit would get on the board first after a wild pitch by Prospect's Dylan Schneider allowed a runner from third to score. Schneider would later settle in and that would be the only run he would allow the remainder of the game. In the bottom of the third, the Prospects would get on the board themselves as Drew McGowan would be at the plate and Hunter Crosby on third and Sam Galimore at first.

Cross Hit would appear to catch Galimore in a pickle as he attempted to steal second but this would allow Crosby to score from third tying the game at 1-1. Later, with Galimore now on third, McGowan still at the plate with only one out, would ground out but Galimore would score and the Prospects would take a 2-1 lead.

The Prospects would pick up another run in the bottom of the fourth inning as well as in the bottom of the fifth inning and would be up 4-1 going into the bottom of the sixth inning, where they would pick up two more runs courtesy a two run double by McGowan.
