Seminary High's Nathan Pickering Stays Close To Home, Commits To Mississippi State
On Thursday, one of the country's top defensive ends, Nathan Pickering, committed to the Mississippi State Bulldogs, staying close to home. The Bulldogs appeared to be a sure selection for Pickering since last week when he told 247 Sports, "I still feel at home at Mississippi State," adding "and with the coaches, it's not even about football or recruiting anymore. they treat me like I'm a player in their program and it's the same with the players there." The 6-foot-3, 286 pound Pickering tweeted his announcement on Thursday evening, "Committed! I'm Home Let's start the movement." And what a movement it will be for newly hired Bulldogs' head coach, Joe Moorehead. Pickering's quickness and agility helped him end his junior season at Seminary High School with 85 tackles, 39 tackles for loss, four forced fumbles, five sacks, and an interception.
