Romeo Langford Stays Home, Commits To Indiana Hoosiers
On Monday, one of the most anticipated announcements by the nation's top uncommitted basketball recruit of the class of 2018 was made. Hundreds of people were in attendance at New Albany High School to hear five star recruit, Romeo Langford make his decision on were he would be taking his talents next season. Prior to his announcement, Langford's head coach, Jim Shannon and as well as his pastor both spoke about the great character and talents of the 6-foot-5, 191 pound Langford. Shannon also announced that Langford's No. 1 jersey would retired and hung in the gymnasium at the start of the Bulldog's 2018 season. Attendees also viewed a video presentation that featured Langford and various important figures, including his parents, throughout his young basketball career. His parents talked about raising Langford and being along his side throughout his recruiting process. Prior to Langford taking the stage, his father spoke briefly thanking every who has supported Romeo over the years and asked that they all are happy with his decision, reminding them them that at the end of the day it's about Romeo and his family would always have his back. When the moment for Langford to take the podium finally arrived after thanking his family and supporters, Langford pulled out an Indiana University hat committing his talents to the Hoosiers. Lanfgford averaged 35.5 points, 9.9 rebounds and 3.7 assist per game in his final season for New Albany.
