Landers Nolley II Named to 2017-2018 All-USA Georgia Boys Basketball Team, Player of the Year
On Monday, the USA Today announced its 2017-2018 All-USA Georgia Boys basketball which was led by Virginia Tech signee Landers Nolley II of Langston Hughes High School in Fairburn, Georgia. The 6-foot-7 inch, 195 pound Nolley averaged 31 points, eight rebounds and three assist in his final season with the Panthers and helped lead them to their second consecutive Georgia High School Association 6A State Championship.
Nolley was joined by two 2018 McDonald’s All-Americans, EJ Montgomery of Wheeler High School in Marietta, Georgia and Reggie Perry of Thomasville High School in Thomasville, Georgia. At 6-foot-10 inches and 200 pounds, Montgomery averaged 27.3 points, 13.2 rebounds, and 3.1 blocks per game this season and led the Wildcats to the GHSA 7A quarter finals, where they fell to Newton 87-81. Perry, a Mississippi State signee and GHSA 2A Player of the Year averaged 22 points and 12 rebounds per game and helped lead the Bulldogs to their first ever state title.
Rounding out the final two spots were Isaac Okoro, a junior at McEachern High School in Powder Springs, Georgia who averaged 20.3 points and 6.4 rebounds per game in the 2017-2018 campaign and Newton High School’s Ashton Hagans, who made his commitment to University of Kentucky last week. The 6-foot-5 inch, 185 pound Hagans averaged 20 points and 11 assist this season and lead the Rams to the GHSA 7A semifinals where they loss to Norcross 86-66.
