Wildcats Dethrone Tigers As Lovejoy Defeats Tucker 53-41 For Region Title

On Saturday, the Georgia High School Association Girls 6A Region 4 girls basketball region championship pitted the Lovejoy Wildcats against the defending region champions, the Tucker Tigers, who had won the last three region titles.

As the game got underway, Lovejoy sophomore duo, Anaya Boyd and Genisis Bryant would lead the Wildcats' attack as Lovejoy would find themselves up 16-8 early in the second quarter.

Behind Bryant's 21 points and Boyd's 12 points, the Wildcats dominate the match up almost throughout its entirety and despite a late run by the Tigers, as they cut the Lovejoy lead down to six points, Tucker was unable to find the right defense to stop the explosive Wildcats offense.
