Westminster Boys Take Home Relay, While Mays Lady Raiders Win Girls Side of the Westminster Relays

On Saturday, the Westminster school hosted the second annual Westminster Relays featuring high school track teams from throughout Georgia as well as several teams from the metro Atlanta area. The meet would begin with the host school, Westminster Wildcats picking up first and second place wins in the Girls 4x1600 and a first place win in the Boys 4x1600. As the meet continued into the Girls 4x100, the Lady Raiders of Mays, who won the overall Girls competition, would take first (48.34) and second (49.91) to give them their first wins on the day. On the Boys side of the 4x100 Clarke Central (43.27) would take first while the Westmnster boys would come in at a close second place with a time of 43.65.

In the Girls 1600 Sprint Medley, Atlanta International School’s Nile Ziegler would help the Eagles come up from the middle of the pack during her fourth leg 800M run to help the Eagles take first in a time of 4:30.53. On the Boys side of the 1600 Sprint Medley, Grady, who took second in the Boys overall competition, would win in a time of 3:36.63. In the Showcase 100M Dash, the Lady Raiders would pick up the top two spots as Chloe Robinson would take first (12.16) and Sydni Gilmore would come in second in a time of 12.36.

In the Boys 100M Dash, Grady’s Babakarr Randall would run a 10.71 to take first place with Westminster’s Brandon Hammond coming in second in a time of 10.76. Overall meet results included the Mays Lady Raiders winning on the Girls side with 135 points and host school Westminster Lady Wildcats coming in second with 113.50 points and the Westminster Boys winning the boys side with 160 points and Grady coming in second with 105 points.
