Record Setting Day For Johns Creek's Michael Taylor During GHSA Swimming & Diving Championsh
This past weekend, the Georgia High School Association Swimming and Diving Championship took place at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center. The began with Hillgrove's Boys taking the 200 Yard Medley Relay in a time of 1:33.28 with Johns Creek (1:34.15) coming second and Lassiter (1:35.10) rounding the top three. On the Girls side of the 200 Yard Medley Relay, Lambert (1:44.21) would take the top spot followed by Johns Creek (1:46.02) getting their second 2nd place points of the day two events in, and Brookwood (1:46.11) taking the third place spot in the event.
One of the highlights of the day would come in the next event, the Boys 200 Yard Freestyle, in which Johns Creek's Michael Taylor would break his own state record and set a new one taking first place in a record time of 1:35.16. Sprayberry's Ananda Lim (1:37.25) would come in second followed by Andrew Huenniger (1:38.40) in third.
In the Girls side of the 200 Yard Freestyle, Emma Cole (1:46.73) would get the first place points for Walton, who would eventually win the Girls side of the GHSA Swimming and Diving Championship with 366 points, followed by Lambert (243) and Pope (223). On the Boys side of the Championship Brookwood would claim the top spot with 233.5 points with Mill Creek (209) coming in second and Lambert (196) taking the third place spot.
