After a nine year championship drought, the Walton Raiders are once again state champions after defeating two-time defending champs, the Lowndes Vikings, taking the best of three series with a 7-0 Game 1 win and after trailing 3-0 in the top of the first inning of Game 2, answering with six runs in the bottom of the first in route to a 10-3 win to claim the Georgia High School Association Class 6A state championship.
The Raiders last won a state title in 2016 led by Carter Keiboom, who was drafted later that year in the first round of the MLB Draft by the Washington Nationals with 28th overall pick.
