Galloway Improves To 15-3 With Win Over Riverwood

Galloway Scots talk things over with head coach Kiesha Brown during timeout against Riverwood

On Monday, the Riverwood Raiders girls basketball team, looking for their second straight win, hosted the Galloway Scots, looking to win their third game in a row, in a non-region matchup. The game would get off to a sluggish start as both teams found themselves struggling early on in the contest, but the Scots would close out the opening period with an 8-3 lead.

In the second quarter, Galloway would begin to gain momentum thanks to their defensive play forcing several Riverwood turnovers and by halftime the Scots would boast a 26-6 lead. The Raiders would get things clicking a bit in the second half, however Galloway’s 20 point half time lead would prove to be a tough hill to climb for the Raiders as they would fall 50-26.

Galloway’s Tianna Thompson would lead all players with 17 points in the win along with three rebounds and four steals.
