Dodger's First Round Pick J.T. Ginn Chooses Mississippi State Over L.A.
Back in June, with the 30 pick of the 2018 MLB Draft, the Los Angeles Dodgers selected Brandon High School right handed pitcher J.T. Ginn. At the time, Ginn had already signed his letter of intent to play with the Mississippi State Bulldogs but the Dodgers were still optimistic that Ginn's talents would be a great fit for their organization. However, on Wednesday night, Ginn sent out a tweet that stated his ultimate goal was to play major league baseball and despite the instant opportunity to do so after being drafted by the Dodgers, after a lot of thought, he was deciding to pursue his college career and follow through with his commitment to play for Mississippi State. In his final season at Brandon High School in Brandon, Mississippi, Ginn went 5-1 as a starter with an 0.36 ERA along with 78 strikeouts and only nine walks. Ginn also batted .415 with 28 home runs throughout his career at Brandon.
