On Monday night, five star wide receiver Jordyn Adams was drafted by the Anaheim Angels in the 2018 MLB Amateur Draft. And on Wednesday, Adams signed with the Angels which means he would no longer be attending the University of North Carolina where he previously had planned to play football. However, after being selected with the No. 17 pick by the Angels, Adams took a day to make his decision and decided he would go on to sign with Anaheim.

"Last night, I received a blessing that I've been working towards for a long time," Adams tweeted on Tuesday evening. He went on to say, "God has blessed me with a Win Win situation and after talking with my family we have decided that it's best for me to pursue my professional baseball career." Adams went on to thank the Carolina football coaching staff and the "Tar Heel Nation" for their support. In his final season at Green Hope, Adams batted .453 with an on base percentage of .602 along with 31 stolen bases and 29 runs. He was team leader in all categories.
