Marist Downs St. Pius 13-0, Improves To 11-1

After having their eight game win streak come to an end, the Marist War Eagles softball team looked to extend their current streak to three games with a win over St. Pius. The War Eagles would not waste any time getting to work offensively or defensively.

In the top of the first inning, pitcher Lexi Van Metrie would strikeout two of the four batters that stepped to the plate and get Josie Lord to ground out for the third out of the inning. In the bottom of the first, Van Metrie would get the War Eagles bats going as she would lay down a bunt and beat the throw to first while moving a runner over to third.

The very next batter would be Kennedy Ryman who would take the very first pitch by Lord and send it over the fence in left field for a three run home run, giving the War Eagles a 3-0 lead. Later in the bottom of the third inning, up 4-0, Marist would explode for nine more runs on their way to a 13-0 win and improving to 11-1. Watch highlights from the game below now!
